What is Norway?

Yeah, I was about to Google something, but when I reached what is n...., I saw something I found quite funny. Or maybe sad. For us, that is.

Coming of Autumn

It's the 24th of September (been together with my fiancé 2 years and 2 months today, btw), and despite the sun, the weather is grey and cloudy. The Ice Queen and King Winter are surely making their way towards us, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had covered our country in snow in a month or so.

In the coming month, all I will do is prepare for the cold and the dark that they bring. I hate the winter. I hate the snow. I hate the cold. So I must prepare. I'll need a lot of candles. There's nothing like lightning a few candles in the darkness. Scented candles are a must, of course. I need more movies. More videogames. More books. Anything that can give me warmth and joy and take my mind away from the white, icy world outside. I need to prepare.

Some of my TV-shows are starting again. Grey's Anatomy has started its 8th season, and Supernatural its 7th.

In the coming months, my wallet will be empty because of new videogames. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as well as the remake of the very first Halo, and Xbox 360 remakes of the three first games of Metal Gear Solid.

In my shelves there are a lot of books, many of them still unread, and even more on their way through the mail.

Perhaps I will survive this winter too.

Gears of War 3

The first time I tried Gears of War, was a few months after I started playing Xbox 360. I played Gears of War 2, and it was difficult as f***, so I gave up. Did a few Hordes every now and then with my fiancé, though.

Now, I've been playing X360 for about two years (2 years in December, to be exact), and I am starting to get good at it. So with my fiancé's obsession over Gears of War 3, naturally I had to try it out too. Yesterday, the day it came out. While he was at work. Probably the dumbest thing I have ever done, because I finished the campaign yesterday as well. On the easiest difficulty, mind you. Sweet Jesus, I am not looking forward to completing it on the hardest.

But seriously. The game kicks a**. I've read a few reviews on the game, and most of them seems to think that the characters have too many stupid comments throughout the game. Personally, I love those comments. In the middle of a heated battle against the Lambent, when I heard Dom cry out "You destroyed my tomatoes!" then kill the thing... I laughed. Hard. Or Marcus' "You came between Dom and his crops, colonel - this better be good." Yes, their lines are as dry as ever, but they're supposed to be just that. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been Gears of War.

The second part that makes the game so good, is the soundtrack. I can't help it. Steve Jablonsky nails the music, and makes the game as epic as it can get.

The third part....
SPOILER ALERT!

F*** yeah, Carmine!! My vote counted for something!

So yeah, to sum it up...
The story is okay - it's an action game, so not much is expected. But action you get - and it's awesome. The characters are cool. The graphics are amazing. The music is fantastic! And my favourite part of it all - Beast Mode and I get to play female characters! Queen Myrrah ftw!

I'm a Gears of War fan now. Since yesterday, I have gotten 26 achievements on this game. More than half. So I've updated my Achievement Progress page and the My Videogames page. I have both the two first games. Guess what I'll be playing until Modern Warfare 3 is released?

Modern Warfare 2 - Complete!

I'm a gamer, and my favourite game must be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Simply because it was the first FPS I ever tried, and the reason I play FPS today.

The title does lie a little, though. What I mean is that I have finally reached 100% on this game. When the news of Modern Warfare 3 was revealed, my goal was to complete MW2 before the release of MW3. And now I have. 50 out of 50 Achievements, and 1000 out of 1000 Gamerscore. F*** yeah!

But I still haven't completed the game. I'm only on 5th prestige out of 10 on the multiplayer, so I do have some more hours ahead. And to think of all the titles and emblems I have to earn as well, I'm looking at a lot more hours. Not only a few. But that's good!

I'm only missing 5 Achievements on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as well. But despite me trying, I don't think I'll be able to complete those before MW3. COD4 is insane on Veteran difficulty! Or am I the only one thinking that?

Oh, well. It wouldn't be fun if it was too easy either.

Boba Fett accessories in the mail today!

Such a wonderful day it is, when I open the mailbox and find unexpected goods inside. Package from the States, once again, and accessories for my Boba Fett.

Cape, Wookie braids and spats, all ROTJ, all made by woodman on The Dented Helmet. Perfection is the key word here, I'd say. I fell completely in love with the Wookie braids. And I'll let the pictures explain why:

One step closer to a complete Boba. But still a long way to go.

Take care!

My body craves more ink!

... and in a month, that craving will be fulfilled.

It has now been two months since I took my first tattoo. She said that there are few who plan their next tattoo while under the needle of their first one. I did. And today, I went to the local tattoo shop to ask for prices. There were two I considered, so I asked the prices on both of them.

Let's just say I went home with a big smile on my face and a card in my hand that says the date and time of my next appointment. October 6th, at 12:00. Yes!

And about the prices over there... They are so awesome. I won't be walking out of there with one new tattoo that day, but two! I'm getting both tattoos for the price I thought one of them would cost. Once again; YES!!

And the geek in me will stay with me forever.
In ink.
On my hip.
YES!!!

Boba Fett helmet in CC

A couple of days ago, I picked up something beautiful from the post office. I'll let the pictures do the talking:

This one approves!

The helmet is a cold cast made by Asok on The Dented Helmet. Fantastic helmet, and a great guy to do business with.

Can't wait to get all the paints and equipment needed so I can start painting this baby!

MW3 Multiplayer

Yes, I am one of those COD-geeks who just can't wait for the next COD game! And in this case, I'm even more psyched, as Modern Warfare 2 is my favourite FPS overall. And this is the sequel. Naturally, I'm very psyched.

A few hours ago, there was a "leak" on the Multiplayer part of the game. A new game mode, called Kill Confirmed, which introduces enemy dog tags that you will have to collect - and thus preventing the all time favourite camping trip. Personally, I think it's a good idea. I really liked that part in Crysis 2, so it will be interesting to see how they've managed to work it out in COD. The team with the most dog tags at the end of the match wins? That'd be my guess.

Read more about this leak here.

And now, a few hours after this leak, we get the Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer World Premiere trailer. And I have to say, I don't think this game will disappoint me at all. There are a few things I hope for in the game, which has to do with the campaign, characters, voice actors and all of that, but I guess those things will be revealed as I play the game. Unless there are more leaks in the coming month. But this Multiplayer trailer is more or less epic. It shows us a whole lot of things, my favourite being the part where we see that Snipers counts as secondary weapons (plus the sniper shown is Dragunov - finally!).

Which means I can have my M4 and a Dragunov in the same class.
Assault and Sniper.
In the same class.

I'm so psyched!
